Anthony Roth Costanzo, Joyce DiDonato, Thomas Hampson, Susanna Phillips and Joseph Volpe Announced as Presenters for the Fourteenth Annual OPERA NEWS Awards

Countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, baritone Thomas Hampson, soprano Susanna Phillips and Joseph Volpe, the former general manager of the Metropolitan Opera, have been announced as presenters for the Fourteenth Annual OPERA NEWS Awards, which will take place at the Plaza Hotel on Sunday, April 7.

The Awards will celebrate the distinguished achievements of honorees Rosalind Elias, Laurent Pelly, Ailyn Pérez, Luca Pisaroni and Ramón Vargas. Volpe will present the Award to Elias; Hampson will present Pisaroni with his OPERA NEWS Award; DiDonato will present to Pelly; Ailyn Pérez's Award will be presented by Costanzo; and Phillips will present to Vargas.

The Awards ceremony will also offer a musical tribute by Broadway star Betsy Wolfe, who will be accompanied by composer Georgia Stitt. 

Individual Benefactor tickets to the OPERA NEWS Awards are available for $1,000; individual President’s Circle tickets at $1,500. In addition, Benefactor tables are available for $10,000; President’s Circle tables at $15,000. Proceeds from the gala and its live and silent auction will benefit the education programs of The Metropolitan Opera Guild, which has published OPERA NEWS since 1936.
