New OPERANEWS.COM

On behalf of the editors of OPERA NEWS, I'd like to welcome everyone to our new website. It's certainly been a long time coming, and we're thrilled that it's finally here!

We hope that the overall user experience with the website has been substantially improved through our renovations. Your best bet for perusing the site is the gray navigation bar towards the top of the page, which will allow you to access any and all content contained in a given issue — both the print and online edition.

Our performance-reviews landing-page — accessible via the "In Review" tab — now features a streamlined tab-based navigation that easily allows you to toggle between reviews by our critics covering "North America," "International" and "Concerts and Recitals." Likewise, Our "Recordings" section will allow you to look at all the categories ("Opera and Oratorio," "Choral and Song," "Recital," "Historical" and "Video") that comprise our media reviews.

The "Audio" and "Video" sections of the homepage will allow you to preview clips from new CDs and DVDs, hear excerpts from live interviews (don't miss feature editor Brian Kellow's chat with Simon Keenlyside, up there now ) and see some of our archival behind-the-scenes footage. There'll be more to come in these areas of the site, in particular. Everything you see here can also be accessed via the "Watch & Listen" tab in the navigation bar.

There are still a number of elements in the site that we're in the process of tweaking and getting used to ourselves. But should you encounter anything particularly amiss, drop an email to info@operanews.com explaining your issue and the page you've encountered it on.

Adam

I love the new, energized www.OperaNews.com; this is true cyber-elegance. Ironically, it enabled me to hear Brian Kellow's interview of Simon Keenlyside, who eschews all things computer-related. What a tease, possibly a cruel tease, that Keenlyside once considered the baritone version of Werther but does no longer. No matter; I'll gladly listen to whatever he chooses to sing.

I subscribe to Opera News, which informs me in the April 2010 issue that "The story and background of La Traviats..." can be found at www.operanews.com. Please, a little more help in navigating to the story and background! Thanks.

Where is the guide to the Sat. broadcast? That was the most useful feature. Now it seems to be gone.

I love the new site format, but I have one thing that I would like to see incorporated. Currently you have no RSS feeds on your site. I and many others would like to see this feature incorporated onto your site, as it was not available on the old site. Particularly I would like to see the news feeds converted to RSS. Thank you.

The only past issues are Jan and Feb.

I'm sorry but it is not operanews. If you are going to have operanews'online' ok but we need to see our 'OperaNews'. Especially those of us who do not save past issues.

The synopsis of the Saturday Broadcasts? Where! Help! Slow down get the basics back first.
Thanks

Why do you have Jan., Feb. and May issues online and not April? Tried to use "contact us" to ask this question and got nowhere.

Even the past issues, when searched and clicked do not have the old data. It's gone. No features no articles except reviews and recordings. No synopsis of the broadcasts.

Has anybody beta tested your site. I wish I didn't toss my old issues now.

to tell you the truth, I have nothing to compare with, cause I've never been to the old OPERA NEWS, but I really liked this site. wish you further success and many interested visitors.
