Representing the highest honor given within the opera industry, the Seventh Annual OPERA NEWS Awards were presented to Karita Mattila, Anja Silja, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Peter Mattei and Peter Sellars on April 29, 2012, at an awards ceremony held in the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel. Stephanie Blythe was the event's host.
