Newly-Formed North Carolina Opera Appoints Eric Mitchko as General Director
North Carolina Opera announced today that Eric Mitchko, 41, currently the director of artistic administration at Atlanta Opera, has been appointed as the company’s first general director.
Mitchko, an alumni of both Princeton University and Columbia University, begins his term on July 6. He previously worked as an artist manager at Herbert Barrett Management and as a vice president at Columbia Artists Management.
North Carolina Opera, formed by the merger of Raleigh's Capital Opera and Opera Company of North Carolina, begins it's inaugural season in October with performances of Tosca.
